La segunda parte de la película Tron de 1982 del director Steven Lisberger. La película está dirigida por el debutante Joseph Kosinski, producida por Steve Lisberger, uno de los escritores y director de la película original Tron (1982) y la banda sonora corre a cargo del grupo de música electrónica francés Daft Punk.
Sam Flynn es un joven rebelde, consternado por la misteriosa desaparición de su padre, cuando fue un día al trabajo y nunca regresó, Kevin Flynn, quien fue tiempo atrás conocido mundialmente como el máximo desarrollador de videojuegos de la empresa ENCOM. Cuando Sam va tras una pista enviada con un
extraño mensaje procedente de Flynn's Arcade, uno que solo pudo ser enviado por su padre, termina siendo absorbido por el mundo digital en el que ha estado viviendo Kevin Flynn durante los últimos 20 años.
Tron: Legacy obtuvo un premio especial en la edición del año 2011 del certamen infográfico Imagina.
